Ribbon Cutting for Troy’s Uncle Sam Trail Extension
On Wednesday, August 8, at 11:00am, Mayor Patrick Madden, local cyclists and city officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of phase one of the Uncle Sam Trail extension project. The new section of the trail features a combination of shared traffic routes and dedicated bike lanes between the Troy-Menands Bridge in South Troy and Middleburgh Street in North Central.
The City of Troy is adding approximately 3.5 miles of pedestrian and bicycle transportation routes between the Menands Bridge and Middleburgh Street to connect with the existing Uncle Sam Trail, providing a direct link between the city’s South Troy and Lansingburgh neighborhoods. The project, funded through a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) transportation grant, is part of City’s ongoing efforts to expand alternative transportation options and strengthen Troy’s existing transportation network for residents and visitors.
