ValleyCats, Community Resource Federal Credit Union Partner on ‘Community Heroes’ Initiative



The Tri-City ValleyCats and Community Resource Federal Credit Union have teamed up for the 2017 season to bring fans the “Home Run Community Heroes Starting 9,” a program that aims to highlight those that go above and beyond in the Capital Region community.

The initiative will recognize selected nominees at the ValleyCats game on Thursday, July 13 at 7:00 p.m.

"We are so honored to be a part of the ValleyCats Community Heroes night,” said Marc DeNofio, Vice President of Marketing at Community Resource FCU. “The many individuals who serve as police, fire, EMT’s, the military, and beyond exemplify what it means to be a part of the community. We look forward to showing our thanks for their dedication to serving."

The ‘Cats and Community Resource FCU are encouraging fans to nominate personnel from military, law enforcement, firefighter/EMS agencies, non-profit organizations, as well as teachers, volunteers, children and everyday people that have helped make the Capital Region a better place to live.

“We are excited to partner with Community Resource Federal Credit Union to recognize the efforts of nine individuals to make the Capital Region a better place to live,” said ValleyCats General Manager Matt Callahan. “This is a great opportunity to celebrate their positive impact in our community.”

The nine nominees selected will be honored on the field prior to the July 13th contest, and treated to a luxury suite at the game as guests of Community Resource FCU, with complimentary food and drink.

Fans can nominate a Community Hero by filling out the online form available at tcvalleycats.com/CommunityHeroes, or by downloading a nomination form attached to this release. The ValleyCats will be accepting nominations through Friday, June 23, and forms can be faxed with attention to Peter Fiorentino at 518-629-2299, or dropped off at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
