The American Red Cross of Northeastern New York is pleased to announce its 2017 Real Heroes award recipients. These individuals – ordinary citizens who have performed extraordinary acts of service in our community – will be honored at the Real Heroes Breakfast on Thursday, November 2 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy.

The Red Cross’ 2017 Real Heroes are:

David T. Wallingford, Captain, USMC: Military Hero

“This year’s Real Heroes embody every facet of the Red Cross mission,” said Gary Striar, CEO for the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York. “From serving local veterans, to collecting lifesaving blood, to intervening in the face of emergencies and responding to help families who’ve been devastated by disasters, these people have saved lives in more ways than one. It’s our honor to be able to celebrate them and to share their inspiring stories at our Real Heroes Breakfast.”

Tickets to the 2017 Real Heroes Breakfast – hosted by John Gray of News10 ABC, with event chairs Kate Otis and Laura Petrovic – are available now.
