Schenectady Museum Receives $2,000 Grant from Target for Little Wonders of Science Preschool Program. Target has awarded a grant for $2,000 to the Schenectady Museum & Suits-Bueche Planetarium to help fund its monthly Little Wonders of Science preschool program from October 2010 through September 2011.

Shows Leary Project Management, LLC in Grafton was awarded a contract by the North Colonie Central School District to be the District's Project Manager for the district wide Capital Fund and EXCEL Grant renovation projects. 10 buildings district wide will receive renovation work. Included in the project are electrical replacements, construction improvements, asbestos removal, heating replacement and safety upgrades. The project is scheduled to start in spring of 2010and complete in the fall of 2011.
CAP COM Foundation supports Hudson Valley Community College TROY, N.Y. – The CAP COM Cares Foundation recently celebrated a long-term gift made to Hudson Valley Community College at a special ceremony to rename a patient care laboratory for Nursing Program students.
The gift commitment will be spread out over several years and will support a program that trains registered nurses. The Schenectady Museum has received a $13,000 grant from the IEEE Life Members Committee for its GE Film Restoration project, which will preserve a significant collection of 16mm films from 1915 to 1985. The General Electric Corporation films tell the history of the electrification of the United States. Troy, New York, (July 8, 2010) – The Children's Museum of Science and Technology (CMOST) is proud to announce Tire Conversion Technologies, Inc. contribution that makes possible the delivery of recycled rubber mats made from tires. Children will be able to use the mats as seats during educational programming at The Museum.

ALBANY, N.Y. – CAP COM Federal Credit Union today named Rebecca Crocco as Vice President of Branch Operations. That promotion is the latest news among several recent hires and staff promotions at CAP COM.In her new role, Rebecca will provide oversight and leadership to a team of nine Branch Managers and the CAP COM Contact Center. Additionally, Rebecca will be responsible for the implementation of a Branch Operations strategic plan. SETON HEALTH RECEIVES GRANT TO PROMOTE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND NUTRITION IN CAPITAL REGION SCHOOLS
TROY, N.Y. -- Seton Health has received a five year grant from the New York State Department of Health for an annual amount of $127,000 for the Comprehensive Health Policies for Tobacco, Physical Activity and Nutrition program. The school districts in Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene counties will be given free resources and technical assistance in order to comply with state mandates on nutrition and physical activity.The obesity epidemic among children had placed an additional responsibility on schools to educate students on nutrition and physical activity. The program creates sustainable policies to promote consumption of healthy foods/beverages and expands opportunities for students to be physically active. NORTHEASTERN ASSOCIATION OF THE BLIND AT ALBANY (NABA) RECEIVES COMPENSATION AND PRODUCTIVITY GRANT FROM NATIONAL INDUSTRIES FOR THE BLIND (NIB)
Albany, New York: The Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany (NABA) received a $34,575 grant from the National Industries for the Blind (NIB).
The funds will be used to upgrade and replace manufacturing equipment and fixtures at NABA. This upgrade will allow NABA to cross train blind employees on different production lines and increase employment opportunities.
NABA's manufacturing department is a fully-integrated operation that produces reflective safety vest and other safety products for numerous state and federal agencies and the private sector. NABA's manufacturing operation provides opportunities for individuals who are blind to achieve independence and self-sufficiency.
