Ribbon Cutting Celebration for ShopRite of North Greenbush
Join us and members of the community as we celebrate the grand opening and official ribbon cutting of ShopRite of North Greenbush!
ShopRite will open its first Rensselaer County store on Sunday, Dec. 10, two weeks before Christmas Eve, the company announced in a newspaper advertisement Wednesday.
Store officials had been mum on the opening date, which the company had said would be before the end of the year. The 55,000-square-foot store will be the fifth in the Capital Region and employ 175 people. ShopRite also has stores in Albany, Bethlehem, Colonie and Niskayuna.
The company also has sought to build a store in Saratoga County, but a plan to construct it on property currently owned by the Shenendehowa school district was rejected when voters defeated a proposal to sell the property to a private developer.
ShopRite announced plans for the North Greenbush store, which will be built at a shopping center called Van Rensselaer Square, last February.
